As part of our Hoco Sounds collaboration, we asked Efa to curate a mix of ambient music to accompany her soundscape. The soundscape is intentionally designed to remain unobtrusive – supporting the sauna experience rather than competing with it. Varying the field recordings within each hour helped prevent listener fatigue, as extended exposure to a single element (such as waves) became distracting. The result is a gentle, immersive backdrop of coastal, woodland, and freshwater environments that helps offset the heat of the sauna while maintaining a calm, steady presence.
The musical elements draw from major ambient artists, alongside subtle musical textures such as singing bowls, warm tonal layers, and deep resonant frequencies designed to soothe and ground the listener.
